Mission

The Milwaukee Aging Consortium combines the strength of its members to improve the lives of older adults through information, education, and collaboration.

Core Competencies

The Milwaukee Aging Consortium:

  • Enables its members to be solid performers;
  • Serves as a lookout tower, indentifying emerging issues and disseminating information and ideas about those issues, primarily to members;
  • Acts as an information source for aging services, with priority given to the services provided by members;
  • Serves as a facilitator of collaboration and idea incubation;
  • Creates opportunities for discussion and debate of hot topic aging issues;
  • Actively brings diverse members together; and
  • Is a financially viable and fiscally sound organization.

Vision

The Milwaukee Aging Consortium envisions a community where older adults:

  • Have access to quality health and social service programs to meet their physical, psychological, and spiritual needs
  • Are able to live and feel connected in safe and user-friendly neighborhoods that respect the culture of each individual
  • Enjoy a sense of purpose, meaning, and dignity
  • Use reliable transportation systems to get to medical, social, and recreational resources
  • Reside in safe, adequate, and affordable housing throughout the community
  • Experience personal choice at all stages of life including the end of life
  • Have a voice in the creation and maintenance of programs, public policy, and funding
