Networking and Information Sharing

Issues in Aging Discussion Series
To foster open dialog on key issues, and provide members with the tools they need to advocate, several Issues in Aging or other policy discussions are held each year. Focusing on important current challenges, opportunities, and policy, these discussions are also an opportunity to meet with public officials. In 2007, Expanding Housing Options was a major issues event that led to ongoing work in the area of housing and services.

Family Care Forum
The Consortium regularly convenes members and key leaders for feedback and information on this important Medicaid waiver program for older adults who qualify based on financial need.

Educational Programs

Orientation to Aging
Designed for new professionals in the field of aging, this program offers a comprehensive overview of gerontology basics, the structure and funding of publicly funded older adult programs and a look at local resources.

Print and Electronic Connections

Newsletter
Our periodic newsletter includes information about policy issues, funding opportunities, upcoming programs and local projects.

E-Bulletins
At least once a week, regular and timely e-bulletins announce important news about our events, member events and information, and more.

Web site
Our web site is growing into a one-of-a-kind source of local and other news, announcements, and event calendars related to the field of aging. Members may submit, review and exchange information about new programs, job opportunities and other news. Our blog, Aging Maven, includes both news and opinions, and we invite members to contribute or comment.
